They Caught the DC Arsonist. Finally. But What Did We Ever Do Before Lip Gloss???

No, I'm serious. I don't remember my life before lip gloss. I mean, I do have vague memories of shimmering and (here it comes) frosted lip color (and a girl in my freshman dorm elevator referring to the "Vaseline" look), but everything else is kinda hazy for me. It truly is mind-boggling how lip gloss has been as extinct as the ivory-beak woodpecker, and just like that elusive bird it's back in style. I can do without all the works, but not the gloss. It liberated me. (Actually ventured into a NY club the other night with just lipgloss.)

I've been gone a while. Lots happened in that time, but I think this sums up every bit of it:

I FOUND ANTONY & THE JOHNSONS.

Yep, melancholy has discovered a new name. I'm no music critic, but his voice is haunting, disturbing, the chords tear-wrenching. The violin and piano make you forget to breath. These songs are simply the most beautiful compositions I've come across in quite some time.
